Construction of the LILW Disposal facility: New visible steps in the construction of the silo and other facilities

Gradnja odlagališča nizko- in srednjeradioaktivnih odpadkov (NSRAO) v Vrbini pri Krškem poteka skladno z načrtovanim časovnim okvirom, na gradbišču pa so v prvih pomladnih dneh vidni novi pomembni koraki pri izgradnji posameznih objektov.

The construction of the low- and intermediate-level radioactive waste repository (LILW repository) in Vrbina near Krško is progressing in line with the planned timeline. In the first days of spring, several new and important steps in the construction of individual facilities are already visible at the site.

In the silo, which represents the central part of the repository, the installation of sealing strips is currently underway. These provide additional sealing of structural joints and represent an important element for the long-term safety of the facility.

Napredek je opazen tudi na drugih delih gradbišča. V okviru gradnje tehnološkega objekta se nadaljujejo gradbena dela in konstrukcija stavbe postopoma postaja vse bolj prepoznavna.

V okviru upravno-servisnega objekta dela napredujejo iz dneva v dan – trenutno poteka vezanje in montaža armature, kar predstavlja pomemben korak pred nadaljevanjem betoniranja.

An important part of ensuring the quality and safety of the project is also the test field, where experts verify the properties of the installed materials and structural solutions. In recent days, samples have been cut and tested to assess the durability and suitability of the materials used.

However, safety at the construction site is not ensured only by professional teams and security personnel. The presence of numerous animal and plant species in the early spring and during warmer days indicates that nature in this area remains vibrant and balanced, showing that construction activities are being carried out with respect for the natural environment.
