Meet the ARAO team that is actively involved in the construction of LILW disposal facility in Vrbina
Construction of LILW waste disposal is in full swing, and all of us, working for ARAO are extremely proud of it. It is the largest and the most comprehensive ARAO project. Future disposal facility is also a facility of national importance and the first nuclear facility under construction in the independent Republic of Slovenia.
The team that is actively working on the project makes special efforts to ensure that everything goes according to plan. Currently there is 11 people actively involed in the project, 8 of them located in Krško.
Špela Mechora, Head of Waste Disposal Section and project manager of LILW repository construction is leading the team, Mateja Zupan, manager of the construction is monitoring the construction in terms of execution, finance and deadlines, Lovro Ameršek leads the monitoring measurements, and also participates in the field of security and within the framework of the construction. Alenka Lapuh is the head of security and supervises and coordinates the procedures in which the facility under construction is protected in accordance with all the regulations required for the construction of a nuclear facility, while Maruška Gortnar Faganel is the manager of infrastructure construction.
Colleagues from the operational side taking care of the project are Miha Ašič, Matej Bukovinski, Alen Polovič, Tanja Sikošek, Lea Štih and Sandi Vasle.
